Benicar
Benicar is used for hypertension (high blood pressure) treatment. It prevents vessels from narrowing which decrease blood pressure and improves its flow. This function of a drug is performed due to blockade of a special hormone called angiotensin II. Often Benicar is prescribed in combination with other medications. It may be drugs with similar effect or diuretics.
It is relevant to speak to your doctor before taking the drug especially if you are pregnant. Benicar is characterized by a high risk for unborn baby and may cause its death. If you become pregnant during the period of treatment, stop taking the drug and tell your doctor as soon as possible.
Medication should be taken regularly. Only this condition may provide its maximum effectiveness. It will take more than a week before you feel any improvement in your state. Benicar will lower your blood pressure gradually. Do not stop taking it without your doctor’s consultation even if you feel much better. Benicar is usually taken once a day and its usage is not connected with the time of your meal. If you feel dizziness, nausea or gout, inform your doctor immediately. The list of possible side effects is not complete as they cannot be anticipated.
